Bark peels off maple trees as a natural process of growth and renewal. As the tree grows, the outer bark layer becomes tight and restrictive, causing it to crack and peel away. This shedding of old bark allows the tree to get rid of any damaged or diseased tissue and make way for new, healthy bark to form. It also helps the tree to regulate its temperature and moisture levels, as well as protect itself from pests and diseases. **

Oxygen is composed of two oxygen atoms bonded together, forming a molecule with the chemical formula O2. Each oxygen atom has 8 protons in its nucleus and 8 electrons in its outer shell. When two oxygen atoms come together to form O2, they share electrons to create a stable bond, resulting in a diatomic molecule. This molecular structure allows oxygen to exist as a gas at room temperature and play a crucial role in supporting life through respiration and various chemical reactions. **
