In Assassin's Creed III on the PS3, players cannot climb trees because the game's mechanics and level design do not allow for it. The game is primarily focused on free-running and parkour, with the ability to climb buildings and other structures, but not trees. Additionally, the game's setting in colonial America and the Revolutionary War does not lend itself to tree climbing as a primary gameplay mechanic. Therefore, the developers chose to focus on other aspects of the game's environment and movement abilities. **
